OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE – APRIL 2013 NEWSLETTER.
Welcome back to the beginning of term 2!
Emailing Acounts.
We have commenced emailing our accounts. I hope families are finding this more convenient than hunting through their children’s bags and finding screwed up accounts covered in food and drink.
If we do not have your email address, please come and see us and we can organise this.
We are also looking in to sending out the newsletter electronically.
Beaulah.
We will be losing Beaulah for a month in the afternoons; she will be taking a leadership role over at Roxburgh Park OSHC for the month of May to allow their co-ordinator to take some well earned long service leave. Beaulah will be here on the mornings that she is rostered so she can keep in touch with all the children and staff that she has become so very fond of.
We wish her well and hope that she will not miss us all too much!
VACATION CARE.
Danielle ran a very successful and full program in April. The numbers were originally down on last year, but due to some very late bookings, her numbers increased dramatically.
Late bookings.
To allow Danielle to run a successful program, she must plan appropriately. Rostering staff and organising activities are key components of the planning process for the program. Late bookings do not allow Danielle and her staff to plan accordingly; therefore we must look at ways to encourage parents to book their children in according to the processes set out in the Parent Handbook and Policy Documents. (Copies of these are available from the program).
We will be asking School Council to approve a late casual booking fee of $5.00 per child per session when families choose to book their children in after the cut-off date. Hopefully this extra fee will encourage families to follow procedures and book when expected.
Reduced Running Hours.
Another item to be discussed at School Council will be cutting down on the running hours of the program to prevent us having to raise the price. We will be asking permission to run the program from 7.00am until 6.00pm daily. Attendances prior to 7.00am and after 6.00pm warrants this request.
Late Payment Fee.
The Vacation Care runs on a very limited budget. The Program relies on fees being paid on time to allow us to keep to the high standards that families have depended on.
In future, all fees not payed before the due date will incur the late payment fee of $20.00. This will be strictly enforced from the end of the July Holiday Period.
Wish List.
The children enjoyed doing the mosaics; therefore Danielle will be planning to make a large one to hang on display at the program.
We will need lots and lots of broken wall tiles to enable us to do this. If you have a contact at Bunnings; Masters; etc., please bring in as many as you can. Much appreciated!!!
